Review the NASW code of ethics and apply it to your current interactions with clients. This workshop will also review the Virginia Standards of Practice.  Earn these Ethics credits -- VA members can submit for your VA renewal due this June.

Workshop Objectives:

Participants will be able to:

  1. Understand the basic concepts of ethical practice in terms of beliefs, values and moral standards related to the development of ethical standards.
  2. Learn ethical standards developed by NASW Review Virginia standards of practice.
  3. Describe personal practice and the processing of ethical dilemmas related to practice.
  4. Practice steps to resolve ethical dilemma.

Agenda:

  • Introduction and statement of goals
  • Participants develop personal worksheet
  • Small group interaction
  • Review and definitions of Beliefs, values, and moral standards
  • Broad overview of ethical code
  • Virginia Standards of Social Work Practice
  • Steps for coping with ethical dilemmas
  • Review and explore ethical dilemmas and counseling

Practice with personal examples
