Session II | Friday, March 18, 2022 -- 10:00 am - 1:00 pm
THIS IS A TWO SESSION WORKSHOP | 6 Category 1 CEUs
must attend both sessions to receive CEUs
Presenter: Marilyn Stickle, LCSW, BCD
This two-session workshop will provide an introduction to intuition as a meta-skill that enhances the application of theory and technique while supporting effective application of expertise. Integrating intuition in psychotherapy refines the use of the self of the therapist, encompassing deepening states of self-awareness and relational skill. Intuitive practice is reflected in the therapist’s humility, empathy and compassion and in the ability to establish an environment of safety where clients feel seen and heard.
Research across domains points to the use of intuition as an important factor leading to high levels of career satisfaction and creative innovation. Identifying the four major ways intuition arrives, participants will learn to identify their own intuitive strengths and learn techniques to enhance them. They will also be given the opportunity to take an intuitive test created specifically for psychotherapists and to give important feedback in its further development. The test will be emailed following registration.
These workshops underscore the role intuition plays in effective practice and the importance of including it in training and practice programs. The content and process of the workshops are appropriate for all levels of practice.
Participants agree to recording of the workshops for training purposes with confidentiality assured.
