I have the LCSW. I want to be supervised in MD and VA. One of my former supervisors has died. What do you recommend about providing that supervisor’s information since I don’t have current stuff on them b/c of their death 00:57:31 Melissa Grady (she/her/hers): In other words, VA does not have the LGSW like DC and MD does. 01:11:25 Melissa Grady (she/her/hers): We can also send this ppt out to everyone 01:11:36 Selah Squalls: Thank you! 01:14:04 Lila Elliott: Thank you for sending this PPT to attendees. 👌🏾 01:17:55 Mary Alice Reilly (she/her): Some of us are from UMD Baltimore! 01:18:23 Iris Ysern LCSW-C: And maybe Howard University 01:18:41 Selah Squalls: And Jackson State University. 01:19:17 Deedra Everett: VCU here too! 01:26:29 Melissa Grady (she/her/hers): Welcome to ALL students from EVERY school! 01:28:28 Stella Assefa: does this only apply to the LGSW since its for DC? (not the LMSW) 01:30:59 Dwayne Phillips: They respond 01:32:02 Selah Squalls: Thank you! Very helpful information! 01:32:59 Melissa Grady (she/her/hers): Welcome! 01:42:25 Dwayne Phillips: For MD & VA what is the application fee for licensing 01:42:49 Laurie Nathan: (VA)—I believe you can have more than one supervisor, correct? And if you get more than 100 hours of supervision, do these hours than count as ancillary hours? 01:43:23 Courtney Primero: For Virginia- Are you able to apply for the exam in your last semester as well? 01:44:10 Jaime Hoyle: The licensing fee for LCSW by exam in Virginia is 165, for LMSW its 115, for LBSW its 100. 01:44:19 Selah Squalls: For DC, are the master's level and advance generalist level the same? 01:45:22 Daphne McClellan: The application fee for Maryland is $100 and then after you have passed your exam, there is a $75 licensing fee 01:45:45 Sarah Hair: For DC, can you explain the work hours needed and supervision hours as well as the number of years needed before taking the clinical exam? 01:46:42 Jaime Hoyle: In Virginia you cannot apply for the LMSW exam until you have graduated and have a grade and graduation date. Please remember though that you do not need the LMSW license to begin supervision in Virginia. You just need the MSW degree and then register for supervision in Virginia which requires you have a supervisory contract (so already found a supervisor) and then you can begin supervised experience and take the LCSW exam at the end. 01:48:35 Stella Assefa: thank you! 01:48:50 Mary Alice Reilly (she/her): I have seen some places hire recent graduates and the application letter includes a line about employment being contingent upon passing the licensing exam. 01:50:28 GHammel: MD APPLICATION FEE $100 01:51:00 Jaime Hoyle: You can have more than one supervisor in Virginia. And yes, the additional hours count as ancillary. 01:51:24 Laurie Nathan: Okay thanks Jaime! 01:52:23 Sarah Hair: In DC, if you work in an agency and have supervision there, as well as some hours in a private practice with its own supervision, how does that work for hours count? 01:52:33 Jaime Hoyle: Good to know about the letter saying information contingent on passing the exam. I might need to add some clarification on this issue and send it out in a newsletter and share with stakeholder agencies. This could be a self-inflicted barrier to access. 01:54:13 Mavis Azariah Armattoe: all those hours would count towards clinical licensure you will need both supervisors to complete the supervision forms when you are ready to apply for the clinical license. 01:57:35 Laurie Nathan: (VA) When switching jobs, if current supervisor agrees to supervise you before new supervisor is approved by the Board of Social Work, is that acceptable? I want to minimize days without being able to see clients. 01:58:39 Logan Hewitt: Thank you all so much! 01:59:17 Michaela Stewart: Thank you! 02:03:54 Melissa Grady (she/her/hers): All of the panelists’ contact information is on the handout that was emailed earlier. 02:05:58 Mavis Azariah Armattoe: https://doh.force.com/dchealthrenewals/s/portal-page 02:06:10 Mavis Azariah Armattoe: that is the link to the DC online application: https://doh.force.com/dchealthrenewals/s/portal-page 02:07:09 Bridget Early: (DC) 1. How many years do you have to complete the 3000 hours? 2. Do all 3000 hours have to be face-to-face/what counts towards the 3000 hours? 02:09:12 Mavis Azariah Armattoe: You need 2 years of supervised practice before you can apply for the clinical license. the 3000 is the total of your 40hr/week of supervised practice in a clinical setting over the 2 years period. 02:10:35 Bridget Early: (DC) if I am completing the hours part-time, is there a time limit? 02:10:57 Selah Squalls: I sent you a direct message, Mavis. 02:11:52 Linda Ulrich: Thank you-- this has been very helpful! 02:12:21 Dwayne Phillips: Can you also resend the handout? 02:13:19 Melissa Grady (she/her/hers): The handout was sent out with the zoom link. I will have the GWSCSW send out the ppt. 02:13:42 Karen Holcomb: Thank you to all the presenters today. The information was valuable. Keep up the great work. 02:13:57 Bridget Early: Thank you! 02:13:58 Sarah Hair: Thank you very much! This was very helpful! 02:14:08 Iris Ysern LCSW-C: Can you clarify details about CEU requirements for renewal for DC and VA (as I am in process of applying for endorsement) 02:14:15 Cathleen Lynch: Thank you! 02:15:33 Katie Smeltz: Is there a new class for CEU in addition to Ethics for Maryland? 02:15:45 Katie Smeltz: Is there a new class ? 02:15:48 Bridget Early: (DC) If I’m working towards an LCSW, Do CEU hours count towards your clinical hours? 02:17:22 Iris Ysern LCSW-C: Can you clarify for DC what on-line CEU count towards licensing renewal? 02:18:14 Sarah Hair: I am interested in the answer to this question: If I’m working towards an LCSW, Do CEU hours count towards your clinical hours? 02:19:27 Bridget Early: Thank you 02:24:27 Sonte DuCote: This has been great!
