The Community Branch provides numerous opportunities for Members to connect with one another for networking, socializing and support. The Committees within this Branch summarize the many ways we foster support and connection. They include: Membership, Early Career, Mentoring, Wine and Cheese, Historian, Annual Dinner, University Liaisons, Retiree, Volunteer Recruitment and Nominating committees. Feel free to reach out to us at: community@gwscsw.org

Annual Dinner Committee

The annual dinner committee plans all aspects of the social highlight of the society,  the annual membership dinner/cocktail party. The dinner offers Members a chance to meet one another, meet Board Members and socialize in a relaxed setting.  A very brief overview of Society business offers Members a chance to learn about the Society and all that it does for Members and the profession. If you are interested in volunteering or joining the committee, please contact: community@gwscsw.org.

Early Career Committee

The Early Career Committee addresses the needs of GWSCSW’s  graduate level and early career social workers (loosely defined as within 10 years post MSW). We network; plan social, educational, and professional development events; write articles for the newsletter; and manage the Early Career Committee google group. If you are interested in volunteering or joining the committee, please contact: community@gwscsw.org.

Membership Committee

The membership committee recruits new members, welcomes new members, and  does student outreach at the local MSW programs. Plans New Member Teas/Bagel Brunches, usually held twice a year. Coordinates with the University Liaisons for outreach. If you are interested in volunteering or joining the committee, please contact: community@gwscsw.org.

Mentorship

This free service offers access to a seasoned, experienced Clinical Social Worker who will offer guidance and suggestions about clinical matters as well as how to set up and grow your practice. community@gwscsw.org.

Retiree Committee

Focuses on the needs of Later Career Members and those in Retirement. IT organizes, oversees and coordinates the very popular Clinical Society Senior Seminars (CSSS). If you are interested in volunteering or joining the committee, please contact: community@gwscsw.org.

University Liaisons

The University Liaisons form relationships with the deans, faculty and student organizations of their respective schools.  They also identify opportunities to promote student membership, participation and leadership in GWSCSW.  If you are interested in volunteering or joining the committee, please contact: community@gwscsw.org.

Volunteer Committee

The Volunteer Committee recruits volunteers among new and ongoing members and helps them find their niche within the society. We also recruit volunteers for specific needs as they arise within the society. We also assist in planning the annual Volunteer Lunch. If you are interested in volunteering or joining the committee, please contact: community@gwscsw.org.

Wine and Cheese

The Wine and Cheese committee provides informal opportunities for GWSCSW members to meet, socialize, and network in their homes or offices. We recruit members from all jurisdictions to host gatherings. If you are interested in serving on the committee or hosting a gathering, please contact:  community@gwscsw.org
