  • As a member, you can participate in our Listserv where you can exchange views and obtain information from a region-wide network of professionals.
  • You will receive News & Views, our quarterly newsletter that keeps you up to date on clinical and professional issues.
  • You can attend educational dinner programs, study groups and conferences.
  • You can enroll in one of our continuing education classes.
  • You can participate in our Pre-Paid Legal Plan.
  • You can join committees, such as the Mentoring Program (directed through the Professional Development Committee), and/or the Legislative Advocacy Committee to name a few.
  • A benefit of membership for Full Members is participating in our online Therapist Finder System in which members' practice information is published for consumers who are seeking the services of a Licensed Clinical Social Worker.

Best of all, you will network with a region-wide community of social workers who demonstrate professionalism and expertise in a wide range of practice areas.

Membership Levels

Note: Dues are determined by membership category.

Full Membership: Open to any person who holds a Masters or Doctorate of Social Work degree from a school accredited by the Council on Social Work Education and who is licensed or eligible for licensure at the highest level in any of the jurisdictions in the Greater Washington, DC area. ($150)
Graduate Membership: Available to any person meeting the educational requirements for full membership who is working toward the post-graduate supervised experience and, where applicable, requirements for licensure at the highest level. ($75)
Affiliate Membership: Available for persons who meet the requirements for full membership and are living abroad or in a jurisdiction where no clinical society exists and for persons who are full members of a clinical society in another jurisdiction. ($75)
Student Membership: Available to persons enrolled in an accredited graduate school of social work. ($25)
Retiree Membership: Open to members who meet the educational requirements for full membership but are fully retired from practice. ($25)
