Become a member of GWSCSW so you can take advantage of the many programs and
benefits we offer. As a member, you can participate in our listserv
where you can exchange views and obtain information from a region-wide
network of professionals. You will receive News & Views, our
quarterly newsletter that keeps you up to date on clinical and professional
issues. Plan to attend educational dinner programs and conferences,
or enroll in one of our continuing education classes. List your
practice on our referral panel (visit
http://www.metropsychotherapy.info). Other benefits include our
prepaid legal plan, mentoring program, legislative advocacy, and access to
malpractice insurance.
Best of all, you will network with a region-wide community of social workers
who demonstrate professionalism and expertise in a wide range of practice

MEMBERSHIP LEVELS
Full Membership: Open to any person who
holds a Masters or Doctorate of Social Work degree from a school accredited
by the Council on Social Work Education and who is licensed or eligible for
licensure at the highest level in any of the jurisdictions in the
Washington, DC metropolitan area.
Graduate Membership:
Available to any person meeting the educational requirements for
full membership who is working toward the post-graduate supervised
experience and, where applicable, requirements for licensure at the highest
level.
Affiliate
Membership: Available for persons who meet the requirements for
full membership and are living abroad or in a jurisdiction where no clinical
society exists and for persons who are full members of a clinical society in
another jurisdiction.
Student Membership:
Available to persons enrolled in an accredited graduate school of social
work.
Retiree and Emeritus
Membership: Open to members who meet the educational requirements
for full membership but are fully retired from practice. To be listed as
Emeritus, a retired member must, in addition, be at least 70 years old and
have ten consecutive years of full membership in the Society
Dues are determined by membership category. .
