Welcome to the
Greater Washington Society
for Clinical Social Work
What is GWSCSW?
Established in 1974 to support and advance clinical practice within the social work profession, the Greater Washington Society for Clinical Social Work (GWSCSW) is an organization of more than 500 licensed masters and doctoral level social workers who practice in a variety of settings in the Metropolitan Washington area, including mental health clinics, family service agencies, psychiatric hospitals, medical facilities, government agencies, and private practice.
Our Professional Image
GWSCSW has led in promoting the professional image of clinical social work, pursuing the political and legislative goals of licensure and vendorship, educating the public as to clinical social workers' competence in the diagnosis and treatment of mental and emotional disorders, and working with other health care professionals on issues of common concern.
If you appreciate the rewards of collegiality and share our commitment to the professional recognition of clinical social workers, we encourage you to join us at the Greater Washington Society for Clinical Social Work.
